Suicide - [First Album Expanded] (First Album is from 1977, and the expanded version with a second cd that has live recordings, came out in 2000)

Proof that punk was more about attitude than a raw, guitar-driven sound, Suicide's self-titled debut set the duo apart from the rest of the style's self-proclaimed outsiders. Over the course of seven songs, Martin Rev's dense, unnerving electronics -- including a menacing synth bass, a drum machine that sounds like an idling motorcycle, and harshly hypnotic organs -- and Alan Vega's ghostly, Gene Vincent-esque vocals defined the group's sound and provided the blueprints for post-punk, synth pop, and industrial rock in the process.

Einstürzende Neubauten - Halber Mensch [1985]

Though it's a bit less intentionally noisy than previous Neubaten material, ½ Mensch is, in a way, the group's masterpiece. The inspired use of such "traditional" instruments as a grand piano alongside the band's characteristic blazing percussion make for a record similar more to their compositional influences like Stockhausen than their nearest contemporaries, Throbbing Gristle or Cabaret Voltaire. The record that showed Einstürzende Neubaten could rise above the concept of noise for its own sake to reach another level of noise-oriented post-punk music, ½ Mensch is an excellent feat of industrial music.

The Softies - It's Love [1995]

Melberg began playing with Jen Sbragia in the Softies, after her two to other successful bands, Tiger Trap and Go Sailor.
Beginning in 1994, they recorded singles for K rec and Slumberland (two apiece) and three albums for K rec, including two absolute must-haves for indie pop / Twee lovers, 1995's It's Love and 2000's Holiday in Rhode Island, where It's Love takes the cake.

After moving to a small Canadian lakeside town, she started a family, developed into a mature singer/songwriter akin to Nick Drake, Tracey Thorn, and Elliott Smith, and created her solo masterpiece, "Cast Away the Clouds", the beautiful continuation of an impressive career.

Tenniscoats - Tan-Tan Therapy [2007]

The New Tenniscoats album Tan-Tan Therapy is the aftermath of a 2 year long tour with the Swedish singer/songwriter Tape, who is also on the label, Häpna. From the exchange of ideas, experiance and social networking.
From all this comes a very good frail minimalistic folk record with electronica elements. Sometimes it sounds like Brian Eno has been in over with some ambient stuff.
This is worth a listen for sure.

The Field mice - Coastal [1991]


One of the best twee records ever made, on the famous underground label Sarah Records.
The Band started in 1988, and have made 3 studio records. They also made the 10" Snowball, and several 7", Sarah Records were known for making A LOT of 7" of their artists.
The Field Mice broke up in 1991, the same year the record came out.
Leadsinger Robert Wratten started a new band in 1998 called Trembling Blue Stars, and have made several albums with them, latest in 2007 called "The Last Holy Writer"

Felt - Forever breaths the Lonely Words [1986]

This Amazing band from Britain started playing in 1979, when the singer/songwriter Lawrence Hayward turned his obsession with Tom Verlain and Television, into ten amazing post-punk and minimalistic pop(indiepop) records. Felt existed from 1979 to 1989 and made 10 records in that period, some of them aren't what you would call full length records, some have 5 or 6 tracks. but they are all worth a listen.
This record is more on the pop side than the post-punk, but the post-punk bass is present.
